Having recently completed a doctoral degree in U.S. History at Columbia University, Thai specializes in radical political movements in the 20th century. He has taught at Columbia, Bard College, and SUNY Albany.
Thai began as a journalist in 1999, and has worked as a reporter for Newsday and the Albany Times Union. His feature articles and op-eds have appeared in diverse publications, ranging from the New York Times to Monthly Review and the Occupied Wall Street Journal.
